Woman Receives a Total of $325,000 Following Car Accident

A 44-year-old woman was the passenger in her husband’s car while traveling east bound in the right-hand lane of County Road 537 in Colts Neck. At the same time, another car was traveling east bound in the left lane of County Road 537. Our client’s husband suddenly attempted to make a U-turn from the right lane and was struck by the car traveling in the left lane.

Our client was seriously injured, including a herniated disc at C5-C6, a fracture of the C6 vertebrae resulting in nerve damage, a herniated disc at T1-T2, and a right knee medial meniscal tear. In addition, she suffered a head injury leading to memory loss, headaches and depression. The injuries to her neck required a C5-C6 discectomy and fusion and the medial meniscal tear required a right knee arthroscopy.

The attorney at Maggs McDermott & DiCicco brought a claim against both the client’s husband and the driver of the car that hit them. Due to the extent and nature of her injuries, our client’s husband’s insurance company paid $300,000, which was the full policy limits, and the other driver’s insurance company paid $25,000.
